It's been a lot more time intensive to come up with these visualizations than we originally figured, but we have a neat one on vispolitics now. We identified 3 panels of twitter accounts-- one of accounts that tweeted about the DNC convention, one about the RNC convention, and one both (2500 twitter accounts in each panel). We are following these accounts real time (in 10 sec increments) in volume of activity, and in which words pop out as prominent. The idea, in particular, is that this should be a powerful tool when watching a highly salient political event-- e.g. the debates. The idea is that you should have this open when watching the debate, and since what gets which side to react, and which words from the debate echo through which corners of the Twittersphere. Thanks go to Yu-ru Lin for heading this effort up.
