This recent [ article ](http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/18/national/18harvard.html?adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1132416612-v8P2pQUs4InYYMJvBS0apw) in the New York Times talks about the growing number of traditional college-aged students pursuing degrees through continuing education programs, including the [ Harvard Extension School](http://www.dce.harvard.edu). This year, for the first time some of the Gov Department methods courses are being offered through DCE. I can't speak for the rest of the university, but at least in our little corner of it, there is no difference between the distance and traditional versions of the course that I TF ([Gov 2000](http://www.iq.harvard.edu/blog/sss/archives/2005/09/pol_meth_conf_i_2.shtml)). In the spring term, [Gov 2001 (Advanced Quantitative Research Methodology)](http://www.extension.harvard.edu/2005-06/courses/govt.jsp#e-2001) will be offered through DCE as well.
