# Post-processing graphics in Adobe Illustrator

A while a ago [Rich posted](/sss/archives/2012/05/from_sketch_to.shtml) about [chartsnthings](http://chartsnthings.tumblr.com), the blog written by [Kevin Quealy](http://twitter.com/#!/KevinQ) of the *New York Times* graphics department. One thing that stood out to both Rich and myself was that a couple of the NYT folks do sketches in R and then post-process the sketches with Adobe Illustrator. A good example is [Kevin's post](http://chartsnthings.tumblr.com/post/22471358872/sketches-how-mariano-rivera-compares-to-baseballs) on Mariano Rivera's career.

Today, on the R-help mailing list, [Michael Friendly](http://www.datavis.ca/) pointed to a [tutorial](http://www.psych.yorku.ca/quantmethods/BrownBag/Sigal-2011-Post-Processing-Handouts.pdf) on the practicals of how to, you know, actually do post-processing with Illustrator.
